A month away from home…

We made it to London! So begins a month long journey that will end in Australia. What an adventure getting here; not in a bad way either. We left Los Angeles on Wed, Jan 4th, arriving here yesterday around 9am. I was up 24 hours by the time we took off. My lack of sleep was a combination of excitement, last-minute packing, and prepping the entire apartment for AirBnB (to rent out).

Around 4:20am, we landed in Keflavik, Iceland, for a brief layover (and holy hell are their chocolates fucking delicious). Once in London and past customs at the London Gatwick Airport, we changed out of our travel wear (comfy sweats, FTW) . I was running on no sleep at this point, but I didn’t care. I was way too excited because I’ve been waiting years to finally visit this place. After sending my sister on a 2-month European excursion when she was just 14, that was really my only regret – not having done it myself, when I had every opportunity to.

Upon arriving, we left our luggage at the Victoria Station and began the adventure, starting with Buckingham Palace then to Trafalgar Square and into the West End and the Strand all before heading north.
